- Steve was born in Nashville, Tennessee and raised in Jacksonville, Florida.
- He started playing the guitar at the age of 7 and was performing in local bands in the Jacksonville area by 1961.
- In 1970, Steve moved to Atlanta, Georgia to replace guitarist, J.R. Cobb of the Atlanta Rhythm Section. The group was Dennis Yost & Classic IV. From that time until 1974, Steve also toured with Tommy Roe and others.
- Of the 40 years playing music, Steve has taught guitar for 30 of those years.
- Steve started teaching guitar in Madison in 2004, teaching guitar and bass, all styles and all ages, beginner to advanced.
- Steve also provides guitar and bass intonation and set-ups.
